I stepped out of the car onto the cobblestone streets in the heart of Maysville, KY and instantly felt like I was about to photograph a destination wedding.
Even though I was only an hour and a half away from Lexington, I felt like I had traveled somewhere beyond special. Everything felt simpler. Neighbors were sitting on their front porches sipping lemonade, smiling and waving as we walked by. The streets were lined with family-owned shops, and the slow, relaxing pace of Sunday was in the air. Nathan and Jenna picked the most quaint and charming place to say "I do"!
They shared their first look in front of the fountain where Nathan asked Jenna to be his girlfriend seven years ago. After promising each other forever in the beautiful all-white chapel, we all walked down the street to the Cox building where guests danced away to music by The Chucks Taylors band. After their first dance, Nathan surprised Jenna by singing "The Luckiest" by Ben Folds, which brought big smiles and happy tears to the room!
During the reception, the new Mr. and Mrs. Doyle snuck away to the quiet streets where we took their portraits. Jenna ran barefoot, twirled in her dress, and was held closely in Nathan's arms. After seven years together, these two were finally one!
