Be so intentional with your engagement session! Consider the season, location, and outfits! Grace Ann was so helpful in helping Nathan and I plan our session! Other than wanting Spring pictures, we were pretty unsure of anything else we wanted out of the session! Grace Ann helped us to narrow it down, and we ended up getting pictures downtown and at the arboretum. They turned out PERFECT!
Trust your photographer!! Try to relax and get comfortable in front of the camera, your photographer won’t let you look terrible. Have realistic expectations about the time of year and the weather, if you want winter shots just be prepared to be a little chilly!
Definitely wear what you are comfortable in and most represents you as a couple!
Wear a fun outfit and a classic one.
I chose a colorful dress for the first outfit and wore an old sorority initiation dress and put Blake in blue (he has amazing blue eyes) for our second choice outfit because I thought it might look bridal/classic. I still gravitate towards those pictures more than my cute trendy dress pictures! We had a rainy engagement session. Don’t freak out when it rains! (A good photographer will work with it). Also, it’s totally worth getting your makeup done!!
a tip from grace ann!
Don't feel pressured to schedule your engagement session in a specific season because of when you need to send out Save the Dates! Tons of couples are stepping outside the box and getting creative with their Save the Date design. It doesn't have to feature an engagement session photo! It's more important to have photos taken during the time of year you love, because these photos (like your wedding photos!) are capturing such a special time of life!
